Little Red Riding Hood- Thesis Part 3: Action Video Game style

This project is one of three visual components for my MFA animation thesis. In it, I take the original story of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and create designs that would suit three different genres styles or markets. For this version, I’m creating work that would fit a an action-adventure style video game.

In this variation of the story, extremists on a distant planet colony have attacked the peaceful population. After an attack that cuts off most of the transportation to the main city, Red becomes separated from her grandmother, who lives in the outskirts. Orders are issued from the colony’s leaders to evacuate the planet, but Red fears that her grandmother won’t be able to make it to the ports in time. With the help of a family friend, a hunter who makes his trade in the outlands, she rushes to her grandmother’s aide, braving the hostile environment and extremist patrols along the way.

This represents a project in three parts. The other two involve taking the same core material and characters and applying them to CGI feature films and TV cartoons, and can be seen in the other galleries.
